He received his Ph.D. - in 1977 - from Warsaw University (Warsaw, Poland).
The title of his Ph.D. dissertation: Probabilistic Prediction of Binary Events.
In the process of conducting his Ph.D. research Wilczynski used various analytical - computer based - formal techniques to model an intelligent system in predicting a class of so-called binary events.
After finishing his Ph.D. Jerzy worked on several research projects as a Research Associate in the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.
He also spent some time in England studying analytic methods in cognitive science at the University of Essex.
In the USA, in addition to Decision Research, he was involved for several years in doing research in association with various departments of the University of Oregon.
For two years he was employed as Adjunct and next Visiting Assistant Professor in Computer and Information Science (CIS) department of the University of Oregon, doing research and teaching graduate and undergraduate level courses in the CIS curriculum.
In 1985 Jerzy left the University of Oregon to work for various software companies and did IT contracting in the Eugene area, working on database design/programming and designing and programming numerous software systems.
He also served as a regular IS employee (DBA/Programmer Analyst/IT Manager) for: City of Eugene, EWEB and International Society for Technology in Education, all these based in Eugene.
In 2002 Jerzy joined Northwest Christian College (NCC - since renamed Bushnell University) as Director of Information Systems and Associate Professor of Computer Science. He left NCC in 2007.
Since 2007 he had been working as an independent IT Consultant until he retired in 2015.
He has published a book on probabilistic prediction and several articles on topics from cognitive science, statistics and data analysis.
